What’s going on with Royce Lewis??
1st overall in ‘17. He’s sure spending ALOT of time in the minors for some reason.
Maybe it’s just me, but shouldn’t a 1st overall be damn near Major League ready before 3 seasons?

My guess is he'll make his debut next year. This is baseball.. and this is the Twins. High school kids don't come up too quick.

He's on a pretty typical track. If you look at the top 10 from that year, only 3 guys have contributed even a bit at the Major League level, and those were all college players. If he's not starting on opening day 2022, then it's time to start wondering if he's a bust.

High school kids, no matter how good they are, rarely see the Big Time before they are 21.
I'm not too concerned yet, but this is MN Pro Sports so I'm sure something will fuck it up eventually(bad luck, injuries, something else?...)

Agree with the last three takes. Have to remember he lost an entire year of development this summer as well.

Yeah, I don't really see this as a story right now. In a full 162 game season, he may have seen some time. Not uncommon for prospects from highschool to have to wait 3-5 years...even the top ones.

When is the last time any Twins prospect has lived up to the hype?

Eddie Rosario, Jorge Polanco and Max Kepler have all lived up to their hype or been better IMO.Sergeant Rubetube wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 1:16 pmWhen is the last time any Twins prospect has lived up to the hype?
Buxton and Sano are another story though I think Buxton would get there if he could somehow stay healthy.

Kepler is a career .237 hitter with only one in five seasons over .250.HeHateMe wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 1:25 pmEddie Rosario, Jorge Polanco and Max Kepler have all lived up to their hype or been better IMO.Sergeant Rubetube wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 1:16 pmWhen is the last time any Twins prospect has lived up to the hype?

If 2020 was a full season and he got work in AA and/or AAA, he would have been a September call-up or even August.
No need to worry. Twins would probably need to trade Polonco first before he's a regular.

I'll take the lower average with the dingers. Not a chance. Kiriloff may be ready, but its more likely as the DH should Nelson retire. Even if he doesn't retire, Kiriloff can still spell 1B, and be a 4th OF and a part time DH. There's plenty of time for him out there.weimy froob wrote: ↑Sun Oct 11, 2020 6:28 pmthat'd shake things up real good.jffl_commish wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 5:41 pmKepler is a career .237 hitter with only one in five seasons over .250.
Kepler although he has underperformed, has a reasonable contract, and can slide to CF during the oft time that Buck is hurt, which is part of Kepler's value. If you go out with Rooker, Buxton and Kiriloff as the OF, who the hell plays CF for extended time when Buck inevitably goes out? This is just the typical case of a fan writing out a lineup without taking history into account...the history in this case would be that Buck always misses extended time.
