If that first period is any indication on how this series goes it will be done in 4. Islanders all over the Flyers. If it weren’t for Hart it could easily be 3-0. Instead it’s 1-0 Isle

Isles look good. Not a great team, but a good one and one that is deep from top to bottom even though they lack any real star power (who does that remind you of?). Just goes to show that even though this isn't the textbook formula for a deep playoff run heart, guts, and desire can make up for an awful lot of other deficiencies. Unfortunately for us Wild fans, the team collectively always has a modest amount of any of that (at best), thus getting bounced early and often with almost every playoff appearance.

Not to mention Trotz behind the bench. Thinking the Caps are kicking themselves for not paying himRon Burgundy 4 President wrote: ↑Mon Aug 24, 2020 9:54 pmIsles look good. I would sure think so. Especially since he ended their season this year and did it with an inferior roster.Jimtown guy wrote: ↑Mon Aug 24, 2020 10:13 pmNot to mention Trotz behind the bench. Colorado in the midst of a meltdown here after seemingly having this thing well under control.

No NHL teams are boycotting any of their games like the NBA and NFL practices and a couple MLB teams. Bravo to the NHL !

Didn’t see the Avs on the brink of elimination from Dallas. Stars are scoring in bunches. When they get one the next one isn’t far away. Losing Grubauer doesn’t help the Avs but they are just getting outplayed. Plain and simple

The Bolts are your COVID-19 Cup Champs
Re: 2019-2020 NHL General Discussion
Another southern Stanley Cup winner. At least we have the MLB playoffs amiright?
Re: 2019-2020 NHL General Discussion
Frickin ridiculous that this state, the state of hockey, has never won a Cup going back to it's NHL debut back in '67. Then you get these Southern teams coming into the league in just the last 20 some years and they've won what, 4 or 5 Cups? Brutal.

Say it ain’t so, Doc!
Mike “Doc” Emrick, the incomparable Voice of the NHL, Monday morning will retire, as per a shared announcement with NBC Sports.
Emrick, 74, rose from calling college and minor league hockey radio broadcasts to develop an enthralling style that emphasized superior, often mesmerizing play-by-play: Original on-the-fly, bull’s-eye descriptions; a great knowledge of the game; current and past anecdotal info, timed to perfection; strong, warm relationships with his color analysts; and a modest charm that radiated as real. He forced nothing. He just knew how to know.

Best in my book. Unique style that I loved. To me he’s the Gordie Howe of play by play guys. Didn’t realize he’s already 74. Can’t blame him for hanging up the micHole Nova Level wrote: ↑Mon Oct 19, 2020 8:46 amOne of the last few good one's left.
