Teddy is not horrible. He's about league average when it comes to his ability as a QB. He's a good leader and he can do enough to help a very good team win some games if he has a lot of help.

Anyone who thinks Teddy is more than that is simply overrating him.

I’m not dead set against replacing Spielman, but it would matter to me who the replacement is. Are you bringing in Kevin Colbert’s right hand man from Pittsburgh? Sure, sign me up. I’m just not willing to blindly go with “ANYONE is better than Rick” like some of you are. That line of thinking lacks ...

I don’t know a lot about this guy’s scheme or whatever, but he’s young and obviously offensive minded, so I’d be okay with this hire. Some of the Titans’ offensive success has been due to them having talent on offense. AJB is a stud. Corey Davis — though much maligned because he was a Top 5 draft pi...

ESPN had James Daniels as the top rated player player on the board when we were on the clock, not Mike Hughes. Daniels went high in the 2nd to the Bears. Granted he tore his pec a few weeks ago and is done for the year now, but before that he was the #24 rated guard in the league, which is at least...

Well, you could say that... *Spielman should have known when he signed Cousins that for him to be at his peak he needs a topline OL, and Spielman still actively did not provide that even though the opportunity was there. Had there been a better OL there would be less pressure on Cousins and he woul...

Ok, see I would rather cut Barr and keep Kendricks. That’s probably what they will do. I’m not for getting rid of Kendricks. I’m just saying that they should be open to moving Kendricks if the opportunity was there to get something for him. I never suggested Kendricks as a cap saving measure at all...

I think the guy I'd want most out of this draft is Wyatt Davis (IOL). He's a monster and you don't find players with a better motor. He would immediately fix our LG spot. Wyatt Davis would be a great consolation prize if the Vikings are unable to land a top QB. He is a perfect fit for a Zone blocki...

Why would the Cowboys do this?

Obviously, you’d do this if you’re the Vikings.

Ash, are you keeping Barr in this suggestion? Yes. Absolutely. I still think Barr does so much more than the average fan is able or willing to appreciate, but same reasoning due to his contract: if you get a good offer for him, you have to consider it because the Vikings aren’t going to win the Sup...

Stop acting like he is one of the top paid defensive players in the league. He is a very good player and is making reasonable salary commensurate for being a good player. He's a Mike LB about to count $13 million, $13.5 million and $11.4 million against the cap in his age 29, 30 and 31 seasons. I'm...

focus on him getting a red zone TD on 5 different routes. receivers like that do not age out until much later. just see cris carter and larry fitzgerald. I don’t know that you can bank on Thielen being productive as a starter until age 35-36 like CC and Larry. But that being said, I do agree, that ...

Thielen is the #1 red zone target in the league this year. https://www.nfl.com/news/adam-thielen-derrick-henry-among-top-10-red-zone-threats Red-zone production: 6 rec. TDs, 8 catches on 8 targets, 72 rec. yards. In his first season as a starter without Stefon Diggs as his running mate, Adam Th...

Kendricks is overpaid? Yes. I would not pay that much for a LB. Stop acting like he is one of the top paid defensive players in the league. This is what you believe the word "rumor" to mean?

This is assuming we cut Cousins before the third day of the 2021 league year and absorb the massive $41 million dead money number for 2021, right? Yes. I think he is using that in his calculations. I would say this: To keep him for 2021 because of the cap hit and guarantee 2022 is the prototypical ...

Chargers have the best QB from the 2020 class. They won't be in for Lawrence.

This. They all need to go. This times 3. No brainer, and RS should be the first one to go, period. Mlhouse, I like most of your thoughts above but it is beyond ludicrous to suggest RS should stay. Laughable, really. Again, the Vikings have the 12th best record over the past decade in the NFL. That ...

No more guaranteed money means they could cut him this offseason with no penalty, saving $10 million in cap space.

Will be sad if this is his last year.

I am sorry, there is no way to spin this as a positive. The first, and most upsetting piece - to me this signals that somehow Spielman is going to skate? It indicates he is he for long haul when he is making a long haul decision and giving up on the season. Or at least he thinks he is going to skat...

Play fantasy. You get to enjoy football and not really care if the Vikings suck.

It gets even better. Why would the Dolphins trade Fitzpatrick? They are playing great with him. And have a chance to win that division. But I'm sure the dummy doesn't watch anything but the Vikings. Nor did he back up such a stupid claim by even looking at the AFC East standings. Baphoon! Bro...

What about hiring Greg Roman as HC and giving him either Fields or Lance?

That is an intriguing scenario.

Whichever QB they draft early in 2021, they need to combine it with either a new offensive-minded HC or AT LEAST, they need to hire an innovative OC who can tailor a system to this new guy, and not just ruin him like I think Zimmer/Kubiak would. Said this a LONG time ago. I'm not convinced Mahomes ...

With the albatross that his Cousins contract hanging over the team we can't even benefit from a QB on a rookie deal. Rick Spielam buried this franchise for atleast this year and next. Again, if we tank then there really isn't any "albatross" that exists. The salary cap ramifications of Cousins cont...

Cousins' actual contract breakdown looks like this: 2020 - $21 million against the cap. $62 million in dead money if cut. 2021 - $31 million against the cap. $41 million in dead money if cut. 2022 - $45 million against the cap. $10 million in dead money if cut. BUT, there's apparently a clause in h...
